convertible leaking???

Sorry if this is the wrong forum I didn't see anything for basic Tech questions. I just bought a 99 SS convertible and have a small leak from the drivers side window. Before it was leaking from both sides but after I wiped all the seals down with armorall it stopped on the passenger side. What else can I do or check to correct the problem.

BTW all the seals appear to be in excellent condition!

1. Check the window alignment. Make sure it seats against the seal.
2. Make sure that the latches truly clamp down the top.

Re: convertible leaking???

Had the same driver leak problem on my 01 Convertible until today. Check out the point where the windshield weatherstrip mates with the convertible top weatherstrip. There's a hole about 1/4" in diameter that drains this joint down through the weatherstrip to the bottom of the door hinge area. I carefully poked a coathanger through the hole and it stopped about 4 inches from the bottom of the weatherstrip, just where two rubber sections are fused together. I poked through this rubber "membrane" to allow the internal gutter to drain water from the joint, and the problem went away. Some sort of factory flaw, in my case. Perhaps a mud dauber or leaf debris obstruction in other cases.
