Computer Programmer

I have a decent amount of mods on my car, newest are the headers and borla. And i'll be putting in a bigger cam and Z06 intake in the next couple months. When I put the cam in I want to get it tuned professionally. So I was wondering, should I get the handheld programmer, I do want to change shift points and top speed limiter. The ultimate question is do I get this programmer or get it tuned professionally, or both.

Re: Computer Programmer

I did some research after posting this thread and read that all programmers are basically crap, especially if you have lot of mods like I'm going to have. So I guess I should forget about the programmer and just get it tuned professionally. Agreed?

Re: Computer Programmer

ls1 edit is a good tuner. takes alot of knowledge. http://www.carputing.com/ If you have the time to learn, you can do your own tuning. If not, see what the pro's can do.

Re: Computer Programmer

handheld tuners are great for stock cars. After a few mods the power tune loses its use.

They're great, however, for changing tire/wheel sizes, gear ratios, shift points, and other minor things like that.

One thing I would like removed is the speed limiter... 118 MPH

With my Z06 wheels and pirelli z-rated tires I think I should be safe around 140 ish.
