Probably get better results in the LS1 Based Engine Tech forum. I'll move it there for you.

You'd have better luck with the Futral Motorsports F13 or F14.

My theory is, if its going to SOUNDS nasty..why not make it actually BE nasty.

They make cool sound, not make power.

If your going to go through the trouble and $$$ on putting in a cam, put in one that makes power along with sounding good.

They actually don't work too bad. Exhaust timing is less critical than intake in terms of performance and the narrow LSA is actually closer to optimum than most off the shelf cams. I think choosing a cam by sound is a little odd, but to each his own! We did test one on the dyno in a Gen I flat tappet setup (in a pickup) and it did sound good. The idle was pretty rough but it had decent vacuum and made decent power. Better than I expected. I did not drive it, however. So, are they making them for LS motors now?

Possibly, but there are much better custom-grind cams out there for less money than what Comp charges for their shelf grinds for the LS platform. You can get a custom-grind for $399 from quite a few reputable shops, while Comp charges $417 or something for theirs... Not really a big deal price-difference, but still..

I'd rather use a Cam Motion custom grind from Futral than a Comp shelf grind any day. I've had very good luck with Cam Motion cams in the past.
