Code P0402

P0402 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected

AutoZone scanned this code from my 2002 Z28. The car has 18k miles so it's under warranty, but if it's a visible problem (something is dirty, or disconnected), I may fix it rather than do without the car for a day....
how simple might it be?

Also, how do I reset the Check Engine light?

Can't help you on the DTC code, but here's how to clear it:

Turn key on - don't start car
Pull PCM BATT and PCM IGN fuses in eng compartment
Wait 5-10 min
Turn ignition off
Replace fuses

oops

Bought gas today, first time since the light came on....gas cap was completely loose. It was so cold whan I bought gas before, I rushed getting the cap back back on & didn't screw it in right.
I suppose this was the cause of the light coming on.

Thanks, 2001NBMZ28

I followed your instructions to clear the code, it worked, no more light.
