Yesterday I decided to take on this gloriious task. Oh man, did this suck.
My buddy helped me and we took about close to 3 1/2 hours(joking around in between). Drivers side went pretty smoothly. We had a hell of a time with the passanger side. Plug #8 was a b!tch to get out. But it finally got
. Had to get under the car for that one.
Glad to say car runs alot smoother and better. I useed NGK's. I'm just glad I don't have to change these every year.

Here man. I use this webpage for reference. It helped me out and also let u know what primary tools you need.
The only other tool I need not mentioned there was a SWIVEL ADAPTER for the ratchet. You're going to need at least once. Just be sure not to mess up the gaskets for the air tubes, if not you will need those too.

I just removed the passenger side coil packs when I did my friend's '99 Hawk spark plugs. You'll still need the swivel though. I think you can get by without it. But it makes it a lot easier.

Just changed my plugs and wires on Saturday and OMG!! My right hand looked like it was run over by a car when I was done!! Used Install Unverisities guide... Awesome work guys!! I didn't need the swivel either...

It is a rough job.....but I bet you felt good after doing it yourself.

If you remove the coil packs it is a very easy job to do, just need a ratchet and a small extension. Even the #8 cylinder was a breeze. I did this during the cam swap so can't tell you how long it took exactly. Getting the old ones out and the new ones in took 10-15 minutes, I even torqued most of the down to proper specs.
I found the number 8 was easiest to get to from under the car... laying down, feet pointing towards the rear of the car... took a lot less time than the other plugs on the pass side. Also took off that EGR apparatus on the pass side and made things about 10 times easier. Took me 4 hours to do it, and this was with quite a few breaks and distractions... the usual when you are in the shop with 4-5 of your buddies.
I changed my stock plugs at 24k... and they were shot. Burned, gaps ranging all over the place, and miserable in general. Swapped to Bosch platinum+4's, best mod yet... car runs a lot better and maybe even a little harder
To anyone who thinks the stock plugs are good to 100k because the owners manual says so... not by a longshot. Sure they will fire at 100k, but not like they should...
Took about 4 hours to do the 4 on the drivers side on my buddies LT1 with LT headers... havent even attempted the pass side

My first time it took me 2 1/2 hrs, so thats not to bad, but I'm runing NGK I believe tr55 but I gap them @ .55 They came @.6 I'm runing a cam and Lt and Computer tunning and so on whats everyone else gapping sorry to steal your thread.
