CD Changer Adaptor?

I heard 2000+ F-Bodies are prewired for a CD Changer. Where exactly is this plug for the CD Changer?

Also, does anyone no what kind of adaptor I will need to be able to plug in my iPod into this plug? TIA

The factory radios controlled changers as early as 94-95 if you had the cassete radio. I'm not sure if the 2000 and up
f-bodies have wiring. But either way the adaptor uses the aftermarket changers' conecting cable. Anyway, In my experiance being on my second non factory changer, The head units only seem to be able to control a select few pioneers (they make a lot of the factory delco changers) and some kenwoods. If you dont already have the changer, talk to the people at crutchfield. They can tell you which changer they make an adaptor for, so the factory radio recognizes the changer and properly controls it. I actually have stuck with a rf modulated unit because the Delco unit new has an insane price and even on ebay its more than a new rf unit.

Look in the very back of the car along the drivers side under the carpet. That is where the plug is. If you get a delco changer, you do not need any adapter. There are a couple Kenwood and Alpine??? changers that work too. But to use those, you have to buy an adapter.

I have no idea about the ipod part of the question.

Damn, I can't seem to find it.

Anyone have a picture of it? Maybe that would make it easier to find.

I think I may have made a mistake above. Have you checked behind the plastic on the drivers side? I pulled it off and found the wiring several months ago. does your radio have the button that controls the cd changer? I think the button says "aux" if I am not mistaken. i remember hearing that some cars with a certain radio did not come prewired.

I am absolutely positive that they ran them down the drivers side though.

Yes, my radio has the "aux" button

Are you talking about the plastic in the trunk where the rear speaker is located?

Yes, it's located in that plastic panel on the driver's side. Just yank on the panel to pull it up. It should be right near the rear speaker wiring harness with foam wrapped around the connector part.

Does anyone know exactly which 12-disc changers will work with an adapter?
