Anyone farmiliar with Alpine Heads/CD Changers

I'm going to be getting an Alpine 7863 to put into my 96 SS. The previous owner had a 6 disk changer (CHM-S620) installed, however it is an FM modulated one with an annoying remote on the dash board. Can I get rid of the FM modulator and have my new head unit control this changer? What type of cable do I have to buy if this is even possible? If this isn't possible what cd changer do I have to buy that would be compatible with this head unit.

I don't mean to sound like a smartass or anything but why don't you try asking ///Alpine?

It's a CDA-7863 right?? (I don't remember if it's CDA or CDM) If it's CDM you should be able to, if it's CDA you're out of luck, they're incompadible. The M-Bus (Which I believe that changer is due to the CHM) is not compadible with the Ai-Net Bus that the CDA unit's use. Don't quote me on that though, I know that AI & M are incompadible but I don't remember which the CD changer is or which the HU is.

Alpine is strange like that they have 2 incompadible changer/accessory setups.
