cant turn off traction on 00' Trans Am?

My friend brought over his new 6 spd 2000 Trans Am last night. He says there is no button to turn off asr/trac control. My dads 01 SS has got a button. Is he not seeing it or are the Trans Ams different or was it something only for the 01+? Thanks guys.

If there isnt a button, I would assume there is no asr or trac control....

it probably only has one of the two then... probably tract control...

pop the hood, anything on the drivers side of the motor that says ASR, little black box? if not. then it prolly has tract control
SLP makes a thing you can plug in, which will keep the trac control off for good. no more boggin when you drop the clutch

If there is no button that says TCS then he doesnt have traction control. (ASR on the camaro)

And just because the "Low Trac" light comes on doesnt mean traction control is kicking in, it means the damn wheels are spinning.

This question is asked all the time, and 9 out of 10 times when the person asking is told that the car in question has no traction control they say... "But the low trac light comes on and the car doesnt go anywhere".

But thanks for the face

ok. thanks guys. I cant figure it out. It does not have a trac. button but it is def limiting wheel spin. Its applying the breaks and limiting gas.
