Texas-speed.com also has some decent grinds although since you're in TX you'll have to pay sales tax unlike vendors outside of the state.

Where in TX are you? I might be able to steer you to some local shops.

I know Baytown. I grew up in Deer Park.

MTI (Motorsport Technologies) is in Houston and G-Force in Pearland are the only 2 shops I can think of down there. You'll find a lot of Houston people post on LS1tech.com in the Texas section and can find more info there.

I'm not looking to start anything, but I heard from a couple people that dyno tune on LS1tech that the TSP cams don't really crank out the BEST #'s..

I'm starting to learn that TSP is about PEAK HP #'s and Thunder Racing does a lot of Cam research for different performance BESIDES PEAK #'s. . I found my grind thru Partick G that's going to give me SICK TQ #'s at 2k-4k rpm! Power UNDER the curve is where it's at!!! And it's a VERY streetable cam too!! W/ My soon to come TF heads, I should be at 430rwhp maybe more w/a good tune and about the same TQ.

I'm going to keep this cam as hush hush as I can...

Ya, the Patrick G grind is supposed to be nice, but it is still plenty agressive (and hard on valvetrain) w/LSK lobes IIRC. There are a lot of guys around here running the MS3/4 cams and turning good times so they're doing something right. I personally don't pay attention to the big cams except to look at the overly large lift and durations that people try to run in cam only daily dirvers and stock gearing, but TSP does have some nice midrange grinds which is what I look at since I keep my car as a daily driver and don't care to even try to be the fastest.

Personally, if I was going to get a new cam, it would probably be a custom cam dynamics grind w/a tight LSA. Then again, I just may go w/a sleeper cam with ported heads and just tell everyone the car is bolt-on only.

^ Yeah.. The Patrick G torquer Cam I'm looking at has a very mild duration but a lot of lift, 110 lobe sep w/ only 5* of overlap. He said I'll have to custom order that cam.

I read where you could just call TR and tell them you want the Patrick G grind. Short duration on tight LSA's are the grinds Aussies have been running. I read a thread where a guy was getting 400 whp cam only on a short duration cam and it was all in by ~6k rpm.

Only 5*, 0* -2* over overlap doesn't matter if you're trying to be emissions legal. They are all still dirty. The cam I'm running has 2*, but if the EPA cracks down in TX like they're wanting to I'll still have to pull it.
