i tried the search but nobody has a simple question on their and im tryin to know all the facts of my car but having trouble looking for this one,,,

my 2000 z28 a-4 shows 49psi on ignition on

and 59psi while the car is on

is this normal ????

 

Sounds about right. stock running pressure is 60. mine will prime the system to the stock setting when the key is first turned to the "run" position, and then drop a bit untill the car is started. Once running, its back up. If that makes sense.

or in other words, it doesn't hold the pump on, primed, pressure when the car isn't running. it cycles the pump to raise the pressure in the rail for a few seconds just as you turn the key on. If the car doesn't run, it kills voltage to the pump. All normal.
