cam timing
I have a wierd situation on a cam. 98 camaro hotcam, longtubes, and lid.It came
into the dyno shop for tuning today and on the base tune the motor peaked at 3200 rpms for a whopping 285rwhp 280 rwtq. just fell on its face. I made sure it was not in the low octane tables like I have had in numerous 98's. It was at a 10.7 afr with 23 degrees of timing. The car had 320 rwhp stock. So at this point im thinking that I wont be able to get much more out of it. At this point i look at where it peaked and stopped. No knock -1 ltrims .......is it possible it is only off a tooth? Or 180 out. Just an fyi the cam came from summit racing in a kit with ls6 springs and hotcam do you think it is ground that far off? Im going to try to fix it for him I could use a place to start.......oh yeah already did compression and leak down test and it is within spec.
