cam newbie question

Thinking of getting the TR224 cam. What kind of maintenence is involved? Do you have to replace you valve springs every so many miles, etc.?

Cams these days reall don't have to be maitained like older ones did. Back in the days of the muscle cars (circa 1960s- 1970s) the perfonace cams needed to have their valve springs adjusted (most used a solid lifter cam, at least that I know of) and for some reason (forget what) they needed constant maintince. Today's cams usually don't need you to do that. I am not familer with the cam you are talking about (I do have an LT1 )but odds are it will not need constant mantiance. Hope that helps.

Only if you get into a really high lift with single springs.
With a TR224 there shouldn't be any extra maintenance.

Thanks for the replies. I will probably go with either a .563 or .581 lift with rev springs.

Most folks with over 560 lift on single springs recommend a spring change once a year ... depending on how hard you run the car, eventually you will break a spring ...
