Hesitation under light to moderate acceleration

I've noticed an occasional hesitation during light to moderate acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gears. I've noticed it off and on for quite some time now. But I idle just fine and don't notice any problems when reving the engine. The fact that the problem seems to come and go has me stumped.

I usually add some injector cleaner every couple thousand miles and my mileage is only at about 26K, so I shouldn't be in need of a tune up.

Anybody else ever experienced anything similar?? Could it be the gas I'm using?? Or is it possible that with the intake mods I've made that I'm in need of a tuning??

Thanks,
SP

Mine had the exact same problem as you. Okay at idle and okay at WOT, but a slight stumbing at light throttle.

It ended up being my number 3 ignition coil was bad. The dealer replaced it under warranty and the problem went away.

My 98 Camaro had the exact same problem. It was the coil in cylinder 3 gone bad. Runs great now that we replaced it!

Have you changed your fuel filter?

Yep, changed fuel filter about three months ago. Didn't help.

Unfortunately I'm no longer under waranty. Any ideas how much the ignition coil costs to replace? Anybody know a way I can diagnose that myself?

I think it cost a total of just over $200 (including flat fee for taking the car in) to have the coil replaced.
