burning oil

Buring oil in 01 trans am with h/c and ported oil pump. When I say buring I mean like 1 to 2 qts every 300 miles. Car does not have any power loss, but does have faint blue smoke when I first crank up and at wot.

Im guessing rings.

Anyway to verify?

Thanks,

Pride

update: No pcv valve on car, just catch can. So I put a pcv valve between the catch can and the intake manifold (where it goes in to the manifold behind the throttle body).
