bought new heads have a ??

I just purchased the Dart 205 heads should I buy new springs any way? I am putting in a Futral cam (not sure which one yet). But this is what the heads description says.
"Assembled with stainless steel valves, "beehive" valve springs, titanium retainers and 7° locks, good for up to 0.625" lift."

i would think you'd be fine with the springs that are on it.

call dart and see what they ship them with...for a brand.

NO! I own a pair of those heads, and I have taken the springs off to examine them. They are VERY nice springs. They are a good nitrided spring that's a slight amount stiffer than a 918 spring.

You can feel confident running those springs. Dart did a good job with the valvetrain set up on the springs and titanium retainers.

Decide which cam you're going to use and make sure the spring can handle the rate. Sorry, but I wouldn't run a 918 with a FM11 or anything larger because you're right at the edge of what the spring can handle.

Not checking isn't worth the risk of what a broken spring can do.

I would have zero worries about running an FM11 with as cast Dart 205s and the good springs that they already have on them.

Re: bought new heads have a ??

I'd want to know to what lift they're rated. Exhaust on the FM11 is .595 IIRC. 918 maxes @ .600 If they're anything like the 918 thats closer than I'd run. I've seen plenty of 918's break at lower lifts....

All I'm saying is that I'd want to know the specs prior.

Greedy, check out a post I made on LS1tech about these heads;

(This set could easily accomodate .620" valve lift).

I went with the F-13, it is 595 and 585 lift the springs are rated at 625, so theoretically it should be more than enough. thanks for the input
