Black Box Datalogging - how do I disable it?

Anyways, I personally think the "black box" thing is a hoax. If it was easy enough to just plug it in some computer and see the last 5 seconds of an accident, insurance companies would be the FIRST to use them.
every time i post that gm's had this in cars for a long time (not all cars, but some), no one ever beleives me. does anyone remember jerome brown? eagles player, died in his early 92 zr1 vette?

anyway his family thought the car killed him b/c the air bags. they sued gm, and gm pulled the data from the car, showing they were not at fault.
