Angry Best way to shift this car

Give me some pointers on driving my M6 2001 TA to its fullest potential. From 1st gear (getting out of it) all the way through 4th. I wanna know how to really get into this car. I'm still to new to driving it and some advice would help all my practicing so I develop good habits. I don't dump the clutch, I usually just try to shift as fast as I can. But I know this car has more than I'm trying to get out of it by the way I drive. Let me know, all help is appreciated

If you really wanna drive it hard a shiftlight is a good idea, the most common shift point is 5800rpm, by the time you react it's at 6000-6100 and the revlimiter is at 6200. As far launching on street tires, keep dreaming, it's difficult if not impossible to good that great of a launch on street tires. Racing from a roll, make sure to match revs when you downshift, if not that initial jerk will slow you way down (also not that great for the clutch). As far as the clutch goes, any good racer will tell you flooring the clutch is not usually necessary, only push it to the disengagement point. However... depending on how coordinated you are trying that too frequently may end up costing you a transmission. As far as dumping the clutch, have at it man, burn some rubber however reverse+clutch dump=wheel hop like you've never experienced (rental car experiment). As far as what gear to be in when, it's hard for me to say, i've learned to drive based on the sound/relative speed of the car, and the shiftlight helps a bit when really getting into it.

The allmighty shiftlight , good idea, really wasn't even thinking about that. What is a good, low price, small shiftlight be found? I'm just trying to drive this car hard without screwing anything up. Thanks for the reply!

If hitting the revlimiter breaks your car then mine must be ready for the junk yard. $50-60 bucks is a good price on a shiftlight.
