Single planes are for racecars or slow cars. There's nothing really in-between

haha exactly... Single plane are defintly beneficial, if you have forced induction or carb'd set-up. Im not sure that a N/A set-up gains are worth the modification to cowl and engine bay, not to mention the cost of a well designed elbow. IMO, by the time your done with all that, I would have just got a FAST set-up. But what do i know

The well designed elbow is the main thing. There was a guy that picked up 90RWHP by switching his elbow lol. He picked up like 2 hp, but lost like 10 tq by switching from hsi fast 92/92 to the single plane, then when he switched elbows picked up 90RWHP and like 30 RWTQ. I was quite impressed. I only run one since I am a boosted car

The Weiand is an 80mm Ported & Polished, was told the heatsoak is minimal notice. If its that bad, i will turn around & sell, the qtp headers y-pipe are the reason i went with the package deal in the first place, would have paid same price or more for those two alone elsewhere. None the less, also ordered the Torquer2 cam kit from TSP, ls6 oil pump, ls2 timing chain. Ordered 410 gears & rebuild kit from summit. I doubt I wont be happy with my results. Does anyone have experience/gains they could share with their Torquer2?

Yeah there's heat soak, Is it that noticable?
Most of the time, no.

Put a cold weiand on a Dyno vs. a hot Weiand and check out the data.

You know if you do the same test with a composite intake, you'll also lose power.

A composite intake doesn't wick the heat from the heads nearly as fast as aluminum will.

Yes I know a composite is still the best choice to keep heat soak to a minimum, but to many people think a composite can't have any heat soak which isn't true.

I just recieved all my parts today, took everything to a local shop, should be getting it back on Sunday night. I will update my dyno results after tune, and decide if the intake is going to severly hurt me, if not i'll leave it alone, with everything thats going on, I think i will be happy with the results. Only thing left is a new clutch, how are the ls7 clutchs vs the stock ls1? I know they're capable of 505, which is more than i will be putting down, but is the feel different than stock ls1 and any negative features about them?

Thumbs up

I put a LS7 clutch/Aluminum flywheel package ($560) in my car. My car still drives very stock like , except with a lot more clutch grip. You'll still need to get a new slave cylinder and pilot bearing/bushing. I also installed a Tic remote bleeder, and adjustable clutch master cylinder. My car has never shifted better then this;even when brand new.

Stock LS1 clutches can't really handle much power. Another vote for the LS2/LS7 flywheel/clutch combo for a mild build.

The 2001 and 2002 LS1 cars had the LS6 clutch, which is a decent middleground and probably (I haven't checked) costs even less.
