bassani off road pipe

how many of you guys are running this? or similar unit.

i know some companies just make the Ypipe from the cats back, but i want to replace the whole unit and delete the cats. i've wanted to get headers but i don't really have the money or means (be doing it alone and in a parking lot) to do this kind of project yet (maybe next year).

anyone know the size of the collector on the bassani? i assume 3" to accomodate after market catbacks but i've seen some of the aftermarket units only having the 2.75" to match the stock system. i have stock exhaust now but if i get a ORP i plan to put a 3" ssystem on, if nothing else 3" pipe back to an electric cutout before the axle then re-joining the stock exhaust (sleeper look but good flow when needed)

i don't expect much from the orp, maybe 10hp and some meaner sound. is that reasonable?

thanks

The Bassani oryp like I have for sale connects to the manifolds and does away with the cats all together. I first ran it with factroy catback then switched to 3 inch Borla cat back. The Bassini fit both just fine. (Best I can tell the Borla actually reduces to around 2.8" at y pipe connection to accomodate fitting factory y pipe and I would assume all the aftermarket 3" kits do the same thing.

Yep that's the bummer about trying to make everything bolt on.
All aftermarket cat backs are necked down to fit the factory y-pipe. And the Bassani OR y-pipe is necked down to fit all of the cat backs.
So what you get is a collecter with a 2 9/16" ID.
Well I cut the Bassani collecter off at the point where it is 3" then I cut the I-pipe of the loudmouth off where it is 3". I welded a 3" extension to the collecter and used a band clamp to hook the 2 together. Now I have 3" all the way.

I installed my bassani ofry about 2 weeks ago and I already had the loudmouth on. The collector fit perfect into the tail pipe. The only problem that I have now is that it pops now around 1700-2300 rpms. Besides that i love it any already 2 mustangs have complemented me even after I smoked them.
