-Porting the MAF
-MAF ends
-Afermarket MAF's
-Descreeing the MAF, although mine is currently descreened
-Tornado
-Pullies
-Shortie headers
-Expensive catbacks, even though I have Corsa, I just love the look and sound but it's not worth the money for the HP you get back
-SLP bellows, no where near woth 50$! It only looks nicer
-Plug wires on the LS1, unless you are over 75K miles
-HPP3 on M6's
-JET stage 1 or 2 on M6, totally worthless....all I did was throw codes!
- IAT mod is IMO
-Removing the AIR system, no gains but cleans up the engine compartment
-TO be honest I didn't notice any gains from teh TB Bypass or FRA mod, but I am sure together with the lid and filter they all add up.
-Fuel Pressure regulator.....total even wrecked my friends fuel pump !!

Instead of buying an aftermarket muffler for that v8 rumble, all i did was do a cut-out. And i didn't buy one either, i made it, and it only cost me $5. Bought a 2 3/4 inch pipe welded a flange to it along with 2 bolts. Made 3 different size plates that can be changed easily and quickly when ever i feel like it. Sounds great. Turning it into an electric cut-out as we speak with parts from spare parts around the garage.

Question What's wrong w/ pulleys ?

I had always thought that was a relatively easy mod good for a few ponies - of course, at the expense of your accesories turning slightly slower @ idle.

I had MAF ends on the SS, but took them off during an experimentation phase & still have the factory ones on.

Semmed like the WOT 70 mph shift was harder w/o the ends than with.

SOTP tells me that my HPP3 does better than factory programming - can't say I have time slipped w/ & w/o as my sig in the time was with it installed.

Of course, it was also probably w/ the MAF ends on as well.

I think it is far better to buy MAF ends aftermarket for $ 100.00 and have the option of switching back to factory as opposed to porting them, but that's my opinion.

Later !

HPP3 costs me .6-.7 sec in the 1/4mi whenever the temp is above 75*F or I don't let the car cool down at least 15 min between runs. Running 100 octace reduces it to "only" .3 sec. Worst part is I bought the car not knowing it had it, and not having the programmer to change it back to stock. $90 to have a shop set the timing back with LS1 edit.

Although I'm not exactly sure how it's all tied together, the 4L60E tranny uses input from the MAF to determine shift firmness. If you port or use aftermarket ends (just talking ENDS or PORTED) it lets more unmetered air in and to the computer appears to be under a lighter load resulting in a softer shift.

I don't think it'll adversely affect M6 cars though.

I just went back to my stock MAF ends and noticed a significant change in shift firmness...Anyone want to buy some ported MAF ends??

are all bellows bad mods or jus the slp ones. I JUST bought one off ebay, it has no restrictions, just one big rubber piece connecting throttle body and MAF. It was a pain in the A** to put in IMO for less than 5hp.
My Airbox got completely taken apart to get this thing in. Do the Lids fit better not having the resignators? My airbox doesn't fit very well anymore. I think with the bellow not bending as much its putting more of a bind on the airbox by pushing it away.
This thread was a great idea. Wish someone had thought of it b4 i bought the bellow. Oh yeah and I paid only paid $20 for my bellow, so at least I didn't get totally ripped.

Well at least that's first hand experience rather than random speculating.

I think your mistaking the Throttle body for what controls the 4l60e its the relationship with the tps sensor.
