B&M Ripper shifter question

I am looking at a 99 SS 6 speed and I asked him if it makes any noises from the engine or transmission....He said it does make a small noise from the transmission area and it is due to the B&M ripper shifter. He said they all make that noise because B&M doesnt have as much insulation in the shifter...... He works at a performance parts store also. does this sound legit to all you who have them? any advice?

yeah.. when making your car more and more like a race car you get race car side effects.. Personally I loved having a car that had almost no body roll and was physically violent on the passengers.. That was the greatest! hehe

I am going to take it slow on my 2002 though.. i like the fact that its strong stock..

I'm going to use a chunk of Dynamat (http://www.dynamat.com) to insulate my B&M shifter. It's a is a rubber based insulator that's supposed to dampen sound and provide heat insulation as well. I read about a guy installing a B&M into his vette and he used this stuff and said it worked great. Worth the extra time I hope.

Thats a normal side effect of an aftermarket shifter, the stock one has a thick piece of rubber but it makes the shifter less precise.
