Talking Awesome Dyno Day!

Well, I finally got my car dynoed this afternoon and here's what I made.

Run #1
287 RWHP
302 RWTQ

Run #2
296 RWHP
314 RWTQ

I'm pretty satisfied with these numbers and if the day were cooler and the air was thinner, I know I could have hit 300. When my car was at WOT, all kinds of stuff blew out of my exhaust, and some suggested that's from not getting on it enough, which is probably true.

A watched a new 6spd. GTO dyno and he layed down 294 RWHP and 313 RWTQ, so close to me. Those cars look really good in person.

How much HP & TQ is my motor at? I forgot that equation to figure it out. I guess my numbers aren't that bad for an auto.

Cool

Mine put down 297/309 stock while hitting the speed governor on an almost 100 degree (in the building it was proably even more...) day.

But not all are that strong, I guess.

Good numbers, nevertheless. Drivetrain loss in A4's is about 18%, so you are making pretty much 350hp at the crank.

At the fly you have 360.9 hp and 382.9 torque. For 18 percent drivetrain loss you use the equation RWHP = .82 * HP Since the rearwheel hp is only 82 percent of the real hp, so in otherwords you just divide your RWHP by .82 and that's what you got. Not bad.

Thanks!

Dynoed in July 2003 with about 45K on the clock. Would've most likely made more, but due to the 2.73's it was hitting the speed governor. Plus the weather...

You werne't going to make any more power because of the speed limiter, when the car hit the speed limiter both the HP and torque were on there way down.

I thought the lower the gear the higher the top speed and visa versa? Thats why 4.10's lower your top speed and gas mileage......

LOL, no, I meant the dynomometer itself is very clean and looks like it is brand new.

Your car is clean too.

Oopps... I guess I should've read it a bit more carefully...

The dyno facility was at the time just a few months old. Very nice.
