Autotap Crap ???

Purchased an Autotap .... loaded the software on my laptop and connected it to my TA, it reads the VIN fine and says it is "connected", but it doesn't display any readings at all.

One of the guages I have on the screen is RPM, when I start the car... it just reads ZERO along with the rest of the stuff I mapped.

Are these Autotap devices a joke ???

My buddy has a tap and it works fine on his car, maybe he'll chime in here and lend some advice.

well... I built a few graphs (Airflow graph) and others. Main thing just for testing was the engine speed (tach) and it doesn't do anything.

Record just logs information if you want to run the car a ways and save that to a file to review the information later. The autotap is supposed to show you information on the fly also....which it is not.

Sounds like you got a bad electronics box (the OBDII - Serial converter)

Just give a call back to where you bought it and get them to swap you out.

I've been running A-Tap for quite some time on many different GM cars.

i was thinking that at first too but since he is getting some graphs that changed my opinion on the connection being bad...maybe he just needs to learn how to use it....it took me long enough to figure it out...believe me it took 4ever
