Question Automatic to 6 speed Swap

Ok guys, I just bought a wrecked 2000 SS and I'm planning on swapping out the engine and tranny with my current 1998 Z28. Does anyone see any major complications because of year difference? Does anyone know where I can get a Step-by-step guide to help me with the swap?
Have any of you performed this task? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You're swapping the motor and everything?

For M6 swap info, do a search in the Drivetrain forum (I'm sure keyword "swap" or "conversion" will get you most of the info you need ).

Engine wise, there are very few differences between '98 / '00, but off the top of my head, I think throttle-body (apparently 98's had a different quicker opening throttle blade ... different cam that the cable pulls on) and I "think" that '00 was the year that the EGR was done away with? (unless it was in '01, when the LS6 intake was added? ... can someone confirm that?! )

SO, most of the wiring between the 2 motors should be identical, and for the tranny swap, again, you should find everything you need in the Drivetrain forum (there was also a very informative Sticky thread about the conversion over on LS1Tech ... it helped me out quite a bit because it's more LS1 specific ... you'll find more info here that's LT1 related, although the basics are all the same).

01 is when the EGR was deleted with the use of the LS6 Intake; however, the power difference was comprimised by the use of a smaller cam... I do believe however 01's and 02's still generally dyno alittle higher than 98 - 00, not a considerable difference higher though...

Also, the guages on the 98 are running off of independent sensors and signal wires. The later LSx motors use a serial data line from the computer to run the gauges. Just something to think about. I might be off a year but you might want to check that.
