ok, i had the 3inch QTP cutout on my basically stock z, i loved the way it sounded...

well after the rebuild (TR224/224 .563/.562-112LSA) LS6 intake, hooker LT headers, ORYP, catback(all hooker) im putting the cutout back in the same spot.. right after the y-pipe on the strait part of the catback... its all 3 inch mendral bent... with a single chamber muffler... from what ppl are telling me.. even with it closed(electric) its going to be louder than what it was stock with it open.... anyone have personal experiance with that cam(or simular to it), LTs and a cutout, and HOW loud is it? is it obnoxiously loud? or not rly THAT much...

i know.. random and maybe im possible to tell... either way... if no one knows.. ill post results.. and a video too

yes definetely louder, when I had nothing but a cutout it sounded pretty good, and not terribly overly loud, but very nice even at full throttle, then after longtubes and ORY-much, much louder sounds like NASCAR at full opening, if I adjust the opening, then its not to bad, but be prepared for full throttle. Mine is in the same location. With the cam you will hear even more sound, when I put my cam in it made a huge difference with sound when the cutout was closed, it was louder and deeper with the cam-224, I could here some lope but not to bad as it had stock muffler, with it open its just raw and unrefined-when I put cats on, it became more refined, but still raw and powerful, and the lope increases alot, it becomes very noticable and sounds sweet. Hope that helps

 

I'm running close to your setup. It's very loud and i love it. At idle you could hear the cam lope and at WOT it sounds like a nascar, It's GREAT!!
