I have the B&M Ripper and it is great. I just rebuilt my 56 with D&D performance parts. I want to raise the question regarding improving t56 shifting. If you replaced the "channel plate" for lack of a better word that the shifter rail detent runs in when you shift, with a taller plate (deeper groves) that would allow positive shifts regardless of what shifter you use. Anyone know about this plate? It's on top of the trans about 8-10 inches from the shifter moving toward the input shaft side of the trans.
