Okay I read someplace taht you can take your LS1 and take the 5.7L Vortec heads off, and replace them with 6.0L (Silverado engine code U) heads... Doing so will lower compression to around 9.2:1, allowing more boost from a turbo or supercharger... Is this true?

If it is, how nice do ya think it'd be to slap some done up 6.0 heads on my 2001 SS M6 witha nice cam and custom turbo kit??

The various heads available for the LS1, including the various "truck" heads and their impact on compression ratio, are fully reviewed in the Christopher Endres book "Chevy LS1/LS6 Performance"...... seems to be a great reference.
