3.42's are on your stock Z.

Gears wont add any horsepower, just move you into and through your powerband faster. I don't suggest 4.10's if it is a daily driver, 3.73's are mild and still very quick.

400+rwhp from a NA engine, you are going to have to get the heads and cams. I know its a daily driver but you can buy a more tame cam for your car. Hell you can have one custom ground at a speed shop.

Heads are expensive, usally around 2k for a good set. Headers will run you up to 700-900 installed (talking full length, no shorties).

Nitrous is a viable alternative. For get what you've seen in the Fake and the Ficticious... err I mean Fast and the Furious. A conservative 100 shot, with the porper installation and delivery will give reliable HP.

My votes is for heads, a mild cam, LT Headers, and all the bolt-ons. Thats pretty much the deffinition of a 'street-rod'.
