Post Adding rear -wheel horsepower.

I have a 1998 Z28 and was wondering what the best way to add on 100-150 rear wheel hp. Also, I have an after market SS hood for my car which I would like to make functional (hook it up to the induction system) where can I get a kit to do this?
I looking for any suggests other than turbo charging, thank you.

Yea that will do the trick...Heads/cam/hookers and stuff..Geez thats a page right out of my book...Thats EXACTLY what i have. Good rear suspension setup to is going to make a difference..You need something to be able to put the power down to the ground.

I was looking at headers it sounds like a good option, but what are "hookers" and "a cutout"? I'm new at this game I just got into the Camaro business about 9 months ago.
Also, I don't really what to put in a cam, my car is an everyday driver. Do you have anymore suggests?

Hookers would be a Long tube header... the cutout is basicly a tube that directs the exhaust out before the muffler or cat or what have you. So it allows you to run straight exhuast no restrictions when you want and when you don't you cap the cutout. Comp cams makes alot of cams that could be used for daily driving... The cam i have is really good but its on the mild side... But i love it... 216 220 i believe is the specs on mine..Like i said its mild compared to whats out there... but i will pass emissions and stuff which is more then i can say for alot of the other ones out there.

Mods? I think it would be easyer for me just to list the things that aren't changed in the car.

You can get an air induction kit at suncoastcreations.com to make your hood functional

I vote for a heads & cam setup getting its air from a set of twin turbos that are sucking their air through an NX MAF nitrous setup .... I think it'll meet the hp requirements .

If you go with the heads and cam setup then you will have a very relable power...Superchargers, Turbos, and Nitrous will shortin the life of any engine and their parts...Without having the right build up it is likly that sooner or later you will blow or break something costly.

What is your goal for ET? What do you want to accomplish with 150 addittional rwhp? Goals can be met with less hp sometimes than you might think. My vote is h/c if you want 400+ rwhp.

I would ET of about 12 flat, but I don't really want a cam. I'm just looking for bolt ons.

Get some gears (3.42 or 3.73) and a torque converter for an A4, and for an M6 get some 4.10's. Best mod i have done so far.

What gear is stock on a '98 Z28, because that is all I have. Also, my car is an everyday driver so what size gear would you recommend. I don't want such a low gear as a 4.10 that's just too low, I travel too much for that.
However, I bet you pull hard as hell out of the hole though, right?
