99 A4 dyno numbers?

I went to the dyno today and i wasnt really happy with the results. I want to compare to other 98-99 A4s with relatively the same mods. All i have is a Lid and Cutout. There was no fan in front while i was on the dyno. Here are my numbers:

286.8rwhp & 301.6rwtq cutout capped
288.6rwhp & 297.8rwtq cutout uncapped

What do ya'll think? Thanks

I think you need to back there and tell the idiots running the dyno to throw a fan in front of your car!!! I have a 00' and my numbers were 296/310 stock. I havent been back since I got the mods done.

Exclamation For what it's worth ...

When I had mine dynoed, I got a 297 RWHP - I forget the torque off the top of my head.

( See http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...threadid=46644 )

At any rate, I was not pleased w/ mine, either.

The prior owner had it dynoed at MTI (another shop in Houston) & got a 316 RWHP reading.

Different dyas, different machines, yada yada yada ...

Track Times are the real telling issue - not dyno numbers.

Now, if I can just find a day to make it back to the track ...

Oh, also bear in mind that the '01's & '02's got better intakes & cams, so if you are comparing yourself to a later model it's not exactly even.

We did, however , get the S.S. header style exhaust manifolds were the later cars got cast iron manifolds !!

Hope this helps !

When I only had a lid/filter my best was a 296/308. We did have a fan but I fail to seel how much of a difference that could make. But like NEWBIE T/A said, different dynos reactive differently and track times are what counts in the end.

Hey man I have a 99 trans am with pretty much the same mods as you. I had the same track times as you. Ran my car in 85 degree heat and 93% humidity and ran a 13.6 at 101 with a 2.1 sixty foot, so I tihnk I have a 13.2 or 3 in it when I get a 2.0 sixty and decnt weather. Also I ran the car after driving for an hour and a half no letting it cool off.

THE FAN FORCES AIR INTO THE INTAKE JUST AS IF THE CAR WAS MOVING AND AIR WAS FLOWING INTO THE LID. WHEN THERE IS NO FAN IT RELIES ONLY ON THE INTAKE SUCKING THE AIR WHICH IS A POWERFULL SUCTION BUT IS GREATLY INCREASE WHEN THE AIR IS FORCED IN.

Weather REALLY affected my track times.

95 degrees 94% humidity gave me 13.669 @ 101.42 2.073 60'

69 degrees 50% humidity gave me 13.453 @103.52 2.029 60'
Car only has a K & N. All else is stock.

Sorry, no dyno numbers.

Thanks guys for all the replies. I have one other question, what is the proper way to dyno a A4 car? i am hoping the dyno was a little low. I was hoping for at least 300rwhp but i guess i need more mods. Thanks again.
