98 T/A..is it a problem?

I am looking into possibly purchasing a 98 t/a from someone I know. Lookin for some help before I make the decision. He says that the car randomly has the low coolant light come on, although he has taken it to GM and they say nothing is wrong. Could someone tell me why this is? Also he said "a cylinder in the engine broke around 62k." The car has 72k on it, GM fixed the cylinder since it was still under warranty. I am wondering what anyone thinks about any of this and what do you guys recommend I make my max to pay for this vehicle? Its a WS-6 version, w/ttops. Thanks guys

10,000 miles on the cyl fix seems OK. The low coolant light is probably from the sender, most work when they want and all fail early.

Advice from someone who has been there:
Ya want that WS-6 bad, huh. So bad your nuts are swole up,huh.
Just give some thought to 6mo-1yr or longer down the road and see if ya can visualize that ya got a really nice car but ya can't go anywhere 'cause ya ain't got the money- it all went for car payment. There are NO guarantees in life as to employment, health, well being,so think about it hard and go with what ya think is best for ya.

Good luck.

this car will be free and clear.. paying in cash. Thanks for the thought on that though. I generally run that stuff all through my head before making a decision. I am currently selling my 97 Mustang Cobra and purchasing the vehicle with the money I get for it
