98-99 and 00-02 Dash Interchangability

Just a quick question about these. WHen I see them advertised they seem to be broken up into these 2 subcategories and wanted to know if they were interchangable....or at least if the gauge clusters are....i.e. will a '99 gauge cluster fit in a '00 up dash. THanks.

I think they all use the same dash, but I know the steering wheel is different.

It's the same. The 97-02 share the same dash. The 00-02 have the audio controls that I never use on the steering wheel.

You never use your steering wheel controls? I use my all the time when I accidentally change stations while making a quick turn.

I liked having them sometimes, but times like that when you "accidentally" hit the buttons suck because it either changes the song/station or it blasts the volume and scares the $h!t out of you!!! I eventually put in my JVC deck (had from my old car) so the steering wheel controls are obsolete now ..............and the stereo pounds a lot harder too!

When I first bought the SS after selling the 97' V6, I tried to get the hang of using the controls on the wheel but it never felt right.
