98 => on LS1 Ttemperature Gage

Everyone knows the problem with the 98 to 02 water temperature gages "sitting" at 210F. Did anyone ever figure what needs to be changed out to make it a "real" working accurate gage like the earlier Camaro's?
Can you change the gage? sending unit? or is in in the ECM? or a combination thereof?

Not that I know of, lots of people just install an aftermarket gauge. The '98 3 wire sensor/gauge was the last year they were accurate.

98 wt gages are accurate. 99-02s aren't and there's no way to fix the factory stuff to correct the problem. The gage sends the info to the PCM then it goes to the gage. No way has been found to modify the signal.
Most just put aftermarket wt gages in.

Ecklers Camaro, www.ecklerscamaro.com, sells Autometer gauges (fuel, oil pressure, volt & water temp) that replace your in dash ones.

The ad says they will fit with "slight modification." Wonder what the slight modification is?
