What's the track's elevation and what were the weather conditions like?
Is it a 2.73 geared car?

If the DA was pretty high with a 98 a4 2.73 car. That's a pretty normal result.

That 60' seems a bit slow for ETs. that may be your .3 right there.

Just checked, your elevation is 735' so it's not that. How about a total description of your ride?

These LS1 in factory form are quite slow.I know they can be modded just like any other car.I don't like Mustang's but with that little 5.0 and H/C/I or A Turbo there hard to beat for a Street Strip car.The LS1 will always win in the gas mileage department.

I would consider it an even match between a 4th Gen LS1 Camaro and a 69' 396 Camaro (stock for stock). I wouldn't consider that slow.

Too bad Kraest is not around... he might have something interesting to say about your comment...

Anyhow, back on topic; your times look probably around normal for a 2.73 geared stock A4 car.

And the K&N filter didn't do anything for you, it's all in your head unless the paper filter was plugged full.

Do a tune up.

Your problem is with gears/converter. 2.73 suck *****. If you had a GU5 (3.23) it would be alittle better; but I'm doubting that at this point.

Replace your factory gears with 3.23+ and get a yank/vig 3600 Torque Converter and run 12.5 all day long.

i got a set pacesetter long tubes given to me just saving some money to do the y pipe and plugs and wires so i can do it all at once. also got a 3500 stall lined out. It is going to be cool this weekend and not in the 100s and the humidity here is rediculous. so hopefully get a few more baseline passes with better results.

After running my car at the track and getting a best of 13.3@107 and consistent times of around 13.4-13.5@104-105, I think it's the auto. trans.

My 60' times are always 2.1-2.0 on street tires, and my car is untuned. I'm can just feel and have a gut feeling that with a tune, tires, and a the right torque converter, I would most definitely be in the mid-12s.

Im not knocking the LS1 because my 396 has a 4.11 Gear to help it go fast while most LS1 car's rarely go above a 3.73 Gear.I would rather have a LS1 in my SS 396 anyday.I have never been in an LS1 yet though. At least I will have more fun because I know I will drive it more.
