Thumbs up 427/78mm LSX test

Our runs were made within 1.5 hours and NO tune tweaking was done. This is in our 427 Z06.

-Baseline 510.8RWHP/495.4RWTQ
-After 78mm LSX intake 527.2RWHP/506.0RWTQ.

About 16.5RWHP and 10.6 RWTQ. THe pickup was across the board, not just peak. I will post the graph as soon as I can get it scanned.

I cant wait to see what the 90mm version does.

I was just on your site 30 seconds ago looking atthe lsx and thinking about ordering one, but then I read right below the listing that the lsx throttle body was required for the intake and was not available yet...? is this correct? That's how you have it listed on your site.

how hard / easy is the swap?
I have a 2002 so I dont have EGR (thats my understanding and I dont even know if it comes into play with intakes) so I was wondering how much work is involved with the swap and how long its gonna take.. I know these are pricey, so are they really worth it?

How did the a/f look?? did it screw with it much after the install? How much tuning will be needed..

The 78mm version will work with the stock, MTI, BBK and FAST TB, the 90mm version will require the FAST 90mm TB when it is released.

The swap takes the same amount of time as an LS1 to LS6 swap, nothing really tricky about it.

The A/F stayed the same as the LS6 intake, so no tuning was needed.

It comes with an blocked off EGR port, for anyone that wants to run the EGR, it is removable.

That motor is being choked. A 427 needs more air than a 78mm TB can supply. Post again when you have tested the 90mm TB on the same motor. I bet you will see a much bigger increase.

AGREED

The 90mm version will add more power for sure.

If GM is installing a 90mm intake on the 6.0 05 Vette, I cant imagine a 427" motor with radical cam and heads couldnt benefit.
