315's in rear, yes or no?

Hey guys, I found some 17x11 ZR1 rims on tbyrne.com, and was wondering if I should run into any problems running these rims? I want to get 315's in the rear, to improve traction. Check out my web site at www.cardomain.com/id/ozorowsky for list of my mods. What do you think? Thanks.

With the proper off set and hammering some part in, you'll be fine. A lot of guys run that kind of setup.

When my tree starts growing money in the spring, i'll be shooting for a set of TT2 in 17X11 and chrome!!!!

I've had zero problems with mine and I just bolted mine on and went on my merry way. I don't even have to jack rear by the axle. I have enough clearance that the car can go up on a regular lift and the wheels go on and off with no problem.

My 99 Z required hammering, and my 98 SS did not, so it's kind of luck of the draw as with a lot of things on these cars. It's well worth your effort though for looks and traction both.

Would you guys say putting 315's helps with traction a lot? A friend of mine says that it won't help that much. Traction would be the main reason I would want them, and how would it raise the rear of the car up higher? If anything, I thought it would be lower going with a 35 tire. Correct me if I'm wrong, thanks.

traction depends on what tire you run...if you run a nitto...treadwear 100A...or even better, a Yokohama a032r...treadware 60...or any other tire thats that soft then hell yes your traction will be better, but if you just run a regular tire then no, you'd probably get better traction with just a set of drag radials. also, this is not going to make your any higher in the back.

but keep in mind that you are adding enough tire that you may add too much friction and not see much of a gain from them..

I would suggest against them seeing as how I have seen people with 400 rwtq numbers get traction out of 245's (pulls 1.7's all day long)

I think its personal preferecne.. I like stock looks, others like the mega tire look of the 70's.
