DAMN is all I have to say... guess I need to keep my foot off the gas.

So you guys averaging over 20 mph are getting WELL over 300 miles per tank?(depending on when you fill up)
Oh yeah my A/C is always on , Its freakin hot with leather in SoCal.

I am lucky to get 270 miles per tank and I run it pretty dry sometimes.
Just put 17.3** gallons in my car the other day with out topping off(16.8 gallon tank manual says)

I usually don't let it go past 280 miles on a tank. At 280 my needle is 1/3 of the way towards E, from 1/4 tank. My windows are always down, I use the vent.

There must be something wrong with that gas station, because I believe 16.8 gallons includes the fuel neck too.

When I am going on a trip or when I used to drive 65 miles one way to work, My car averaged 30 mpg on the freeway... and still gets 30 mpg on the freeway... I get 18 - 21 in town and average between city and freeway, I get roughly 25 mpg!! Damn this beats driving a 94 GMC Sierra w/ 4.3L Vortec V6 and 4L60E tranny and getting 18 mpg on the freeway and 16 mpg in town or even better then 6 mpg in Town and 8 on the freeway guzzling Premium...

You really think something could be wrong with a gas station? I dont think so...
I probably only could have gone another 1/4 mile and it would have died. the engine was fluttering.

So I am thinking you can fit 1/2 gallon extra in the "fuel neck"

I doubt that. I've run out of gas twice in the Maro, and when the engine began fluttering, It died about 20 sec. later - both times.

I get an awesome 14 mpg in the city, and about 18 mpg highway. Don't know why, but oh well. I don't drive with my foot in it all the time either.

Next time to go to fill up gas, write down exactly how many gallons you put in. = xx.xxx

Then the next time to go to fill up (for a full tank) before you drive off, look at the trip meter and write down the mileage.

Then take the mileage and divide it by the # of gallons you put in the previous time. That = your gas mileage.

Oh kaaaay?
Then make it NOT a piece of sh*t, maybe a wash and some tender loving care could change that.

for the guys that are seeing amazing gas mileage out of their ls1. i know it looks good on the surface and i wish it was true because i just got 34mpg last weekend. but you have to remember that if you had ANY wind behind you that helps out alot. i had 20mph wind at my a$$ for 250miles. and that is the ONLY reason i got 34mpg. just thought i would throw that in for anyone who read someone got crazy mileage and thought something might be wrong with their car. i fly planes for a living and i know how just a little wind can make a big difference. congrat's on the great mileage though.

Most likely. They do have two less gas hogging cylinders. Cruising in 5th in the V6 should give even more.
