2002 Z28 exhaust

A few simple questions for my 2002 Z28.

I am looking for some cheap exhaust work. I am under the impression that the stock manifolds on a 2002 are better than past years and flow similarly to a shorty header, is this accurate? Also, with an aftermarket catback, is an ORY for the stock manifolds worth it? Local guy has a Bassani ORY for stock manifolds for sale...

I'd throw the entire power-robbing stock manifold/Y-pipe in the garbage and go with a True Duals setup with an X-Pipe and Longtubes to free up the power in the LS1 -- You wouldn't believe the difference...

I think Texas Speed (one of our vendors) sells all of the above --

$369 For Longtubes:

$459 For the True Dual Setup:

Those will add around 40-50 horsepower.

Trying to stay away from longtubes for 2 reasons. Shops around here are crazy when inspecting for emission crap (egr/AIR) and the ground clearance is crap on our roads. I have been down the longtube road and wanna try something different.

im actually curious about this too. i also have an 02 Z28, and i was looking at texas speed true duals, with longtubes. emissions arent a problem, since i live in indiana (one good thing about this state), and i can sacrifice a bit of ground clearance i guess, but its a daily driver, so id like to keep as much as possible. are my expectations unrealistic? or is this doable?

Ground clearance is fantastic with those headers/exhaust setup. I ran it with an Eibach 1" lowering kit with absolutely no clearance issues whatsoever.
