2.5" or 3" CATS....

I'm looking to get the pacesetters headers for my ,01 ss camaro, I'm getting a custom y pipe but I have to stay legal and since I live in california I'don't whant any engine lights coming on. I'm not worried about the eye insp. I'm more conserned with the actual smog. What cat's should I run or do you suggest? Should I get 2.5" or 3" it's mainly an everyday driver. Thanx for any help!

well the collectors on the headers are 3"....so why would you want to put an even bigger restriction in it by going to a smaller dia cat?

even if you're planning a true dual setup, the bigger size will couteract the small restriction of the cats.

Yes, go with the 3 inch. Changing pipe sizes from big to small to big again is pointless.
