1998 T/A - Pinging

I recently purchased a 98 T/A with 48k on the clock. The car seems to be all original, right down to a paper air cleaner. I was just on a long highway road trip and noticed a fair amount of pining when changing speeds. I can make it do it at will and it will continue a slight ping for more than a few seconds each time. I only run 93 octane in this LS1, so I am looking to see if I have a problem up and coming.

I was thinking maybe a dirty mass air? What do you guys think?

Might wanna do a tuneup. Plugs, wires, fuel filter check the pcv system. Run a can a top fuel engine cleaner. Get that at the dealer. Sometime if you have lots of carbon deposits in the intake you'll get pinging. Change out air filter, a fram works well, K&N is a waste. Clean the maf with a rubbing alcohol and q tips being extremely careful.
