18x9.5" y2k's rubbing on inner fender well

I put a set of oem y2k's on my z and when I turn a sharp corner at speed I hear the tires rubbing the inner fender well. What can I do to remedy this. Wheel spacers? "Massage" the fender well with a hammer? Ideas?

Put the car in park and turn the wheel all the way. See if it rubs while the car is sitting still. If it doesnt then just try hammering the points where it is closest. If it does then you will need spacers. Not sure on the specifications on those, maybe someone else...

It doesn't do it while going straight, only when I turn. This is for the rear wheels btw. I believe it only does it when it runs because of the body shifting from side to side over the axle.

Lessen or remove the swaying that's causing the problem... or, avoid it altogether by doing wheel spacers, an upgraded rear anti-sway bar, SFC's, a set of pan hard rods, and/or narrower tires before disfiguring your car.

True, I would rather upgrade suspension/chassis parts to remedy this, I have just heard of many people "creating" more space in the wheel well via a hammer--mostly people with zr1's or the like.

I had the same problem. Basically what you need to do is pull the tires off and take a hammer to the inner fender. You'll be able to tell which spots to pound out because the tire rub will have worn away the undercoating. Good luck and have fun beating up your car .
