10W-30 in LS1's?

yeah yeah, stupid question. Is 10W-30 the best oil for our engines? Or should I use 5W-30? I think imma change my oil tomorrow and I needta know if I should go buy some more or use the oil I still have from when I bought a buncha boxes for my V6

Which weight?

Cool

Since you're in Texas (warmer climate), I'd say you'd be fine using 10W30. FWIW, I've been using it in my car since the summer to try to quiet down the engine a little, and since the owner's manual says either 5W30 or 10W30 are acceptable, then I'd say it's A-OK.

There's a thread further down the page on using 10W30 (another oil weight thread).

I live in a warm climate also (Southern California), and 10W-30 is best for our climate. I suspect why the owners manuals say to use 5W-30, is that you would have some rocket scientest in Fargo N.D. running 20W-50 during the winter.
