10 Vs 12 Bolt
10 Vs 12 Bolt
Just wondering, I got a set of 3.73s 10 bolts, should I have gone with 12 bolt cause thats what Im hearing, If I decided to go with 12 bolt would I have to replace anything else, driveshaft, anything at all that might need to be replaced. Cause one of my buddies is parting out his 02 SS and he has 12 bolt 3.73s that he would trade me for my 10 bolts. Should I go with it and if I do what do I gotta change?
First off, a 12 bolt is a total different rearend than a 10 bolt, not just gears. It didn't sound like you knew this. And yes, a 12 bolt rear is much better than a 10 bolt, but a 12 bolt rearend is quite a pretty penny (about $2200 or so). So if you're friend is trading you the entire rearend for your stock rearend, than hell yeah, jump on that ****!!!!!!!
sounds like neither of you knows what youre talking about. There are no 12 bolt gears, 10 bolt and 12 bolt are rear ends. If you're friend is willing to give up his 12 bolt rearend, which would either make him a really good friend, or a really dumb friend...? Then definitely make that trade for sure.
