0w-30 Synthetic Oils
Ok I'm confused .Wouldn't a heavier oil not flow as well at start up.The engine is only noisy at start up when cold (lifters,Tappets or Something) that's why I thought a 0 viscosity would flow better
i remember on my 65K mile LT1....i tried some of that new Mobile1 "performance" 20w-?? that they came out with about 4yrs ago.
the engine made so much racket i was gonna drain it well before the 3000miles.
it was crazy how much noise the engine made...and that was switching form 10w.

I'm not ever going to use Royal Purple again. I had my pan off this last winter and it was all coated with a purple/black residue. A few years before when I was running M1 it was as clean as could be inside.
I am not going to get into a debate, but I will tell you to get that 0w oil out of your engine. I have used both AmsOil and Mobil 1 0-30, 5-30 and 10-30. I had lots of engine wear from any synthetic I used. MUCH more wear from the 0w oils. The so-called gains are really not worth the price you will pay in the long run.
I back this up from the oil samples I sent to:
http://www.blackstone-labs.com/index.html
Which noted in EACH oil sample from my 95 LT1 and 99 LS1 the synthetics were causing engine wear incredibly fast. I switched over to a recommended Havoline 10-30 (just regular oil) and my engine wear went down considerably with each oil change of 3,000 miles.
I will never use overly-priced synthetics again.

I live in a very warm cliamate, and use 10W-30 year round.

most synthetics are grade III (since U.S. courts legalized the marketing of dino oil as synthetic if it has certain properties), and do not offer the same level of protection as a true synthetic.
Try an engine analysis with german made castrol 0w30 synthetic. According to Bob is the Oil guy, that yielded almost zero wear, and much better results than Mobil 5w30 "synthetic" - that was in an LT1, but the results should be similar in other cars.
Its also the only oil available in north america that BMW has approved for their "long life" standard. BMW recommends oil change interval to the tune of every 20k miles
