Camaros racing other Camaros just seems like inbreeding to me. But back to the other things you said about the Z and the SS.. the SS is not done like the cars of old that were runing close to 400hp stock. Now it is just a way to make more money. The hp difference between a Z and a SS is negligible. Boils down to driver and which car has a stronger car by luck. The remember you can pull two cars off the same assembly line one after the other and one might be faster just because it is. No real way to explain it.

He has true dual side pipes and the SLP lid. I at the time had a loudmouth and lid. We both had a passenger, mine being less since it was my gf and he had a buddy in his. We race twice. One from a dead stop, tied through first and when 2nd hit i started to pull away and let off mid through 3rd with a car to a car and a half win. Another was from a 30 roll. He had the countdown and we nailed it, just railed him from the start and it was over up to 70. So basically yes he did pay the 3500 for a slower car IMO.

...... soooo.. with that "10 hp" gain on the ss, your expecting what? to get your doors blown off? think about it this way.

car #1 rolls off the factory line your a typical z28. dynos at 290 rwhp.
car #2 rolls off the factory line, again your a typical z28. dynos at 312 rwhp.

i don't think anyone would argue that that is very possible. now, what happens if you make car #1 an ss? you then send the car off to slp for modification (yes i know there is doubt as to whether or not the car is actually sent anywhere, but it really ins't important one way or another to the situation i am describing).

so, car #2 stays at the prementioned 312 rwhp. but the now ss car #1 is up to a flat 300 rwhp with the slp mods. so..... who has the advantage again?

the "ss" tag doesn't make the car unbeateable. same as throwing a lid and cat back on a z28 doesn't mean you will now roasty toasty any other stock z on the block.

You guys seriously crack me up!

My z28 with exhaust and a lid raced this SS with exhaust and a lid, and i beat him!

NO ****. you guys make the same power and your Z28 is lighter(8 out of 10 times). Imagine that.

Also keep in mind HP ratings mean ****. And every car makes different power. Some cars are running 100mph and others 110 stock. Does it matter which car? No cause they are all, all over the place.

These types of posts dont help the board, they dont teach anything to anyone simply because people will not listen. Most of you guys are so close minded about YOUR cars, you should be driving a C5 insted.
