Have you scanned it for codes? Not all codes turn on the SES light.

Have you checked the fuel pressure:
- after the pump primes, and shuts off, without starting the engine
- at idle, with vacuum compensation line on the fuel pressure regulator?
- at idle, with vacuum line off the FPR?
- on the road with engine under max load?

What brand is the new fuel pump? There are a lot of low quality Chinese counterfeits on the market?

When it runs for 5 minutes and the engine shuts off, is that sitting at idle, on the road being driven, or both?

Scanned it for codes nothing pops up i can't remember the brand name for the fuel pump but im getting 45 pressure and i haven't been driving while its happened but when it starts to die I'll give it gas to try keeping it alive and it'll still fall out where I screw in to get the pressure is after the fuel regulator so im guessing its not that

The Schrader valve (pressure test) is in the fuel supply line, not after the regulator. The regulator controls pressure by controlling how much fuel is returned to the tank. It is possible for the fuel pump to heat soak. Did you check the fuel pressure immediately after it shut down? When you replaced the pump did you reuse the factory "bucket"?

What did you use to check for codes?

When the engine is running at idle, and the vacuum compensation line is attached to the fuel pressure regulator, the pressure should be about ~35 PSI with a stock cam. With the vacuum line off the FPR, pressure should be 43.5 PSI. GM spec accepts anything in the range of 41-47 PSI. If the pressure does not drop whe the vacuum line is reattached, something is wrong.

When you scanned you car did you happen to check all of you cars parameters? I have seen this before ambient temp will be like 70 degrees and the coolant temp will show 30 degrees so it trying too do a cold start and will over fuel it and not start soon I would check Temps out and the 5.7 has two coolant sensors on for gauge and one for ecu
