woot, just saved myself $160 on labor

as much of a bitch as the pwr window motor was to do, it sure beats paying $160 in labor to have it done.....

FWIW i got off easy (well kind of) because the motor had been changed once already so i didnt have to drill any holes

still was a bitch and looking back i shouldnt have done it in my gravel parking area near my driveway, since i couldn t get the damn pwr mirror switch to come off, so i just kind of layed the interior panel carefully there, it suffored a small scratch or 2 near the bottom but not anything noticeable...

ranks up there on my "I dont want to have to do this again for awhile) list though... the screws holding the motor in were tight as hell, i had to use an 8mm wrench stratgically positioned in order to get one of them loose, since it wasnt quite lined up with the hole, making a nut driver impossible, and a screw driver not strong enough

i probably would have been done in 1-1.5 hrs if i had not spent so much time trying to figure out how to remove the power mirror wiring, and just left the panel hanging off there like i ultimately ended up doing (went back in the house once or twice and jumped online and tried to figire out out, but it wouldnt budge)

as it was it took about 2 hrs... and the hardest part other than the power mirror wiring not wanting to come out was the bolts holding the motor in were screws and the biggest flathead i had would not budge them.. so i had to use an 8mm nut driver to loosen 2 of them... the 3rd was slightly off center of the hole in the door and i couldnt use the nut driver so i had to use a wrench and put it up into the door and hold the wrench on there with one hand while turning it with the other.. i managed to get it loose and i never did get it out of the door, after dropping the other 3, and finding them (thank god for magnetic wands) i just said the heck with it and left the screw there, put the new motor in and reused that same screw to tighten it, and then used the other 2 from the old motor as well....

i sure am glad it had been done before though, im not a fan of drilling and all that stuff
