Whats my car worth
Whats my car worth
Hey, I need to get rid of my car. Its a 94 dark green Z. 93k miles... All stock performance wise. It has new kumho ecstas, a $400 panasonic cd player, new speakers and is overall in good condition except one thing.
The transmission isnt funstioning right. It goes and shift thru all the gears but has no reverse. Im guessng the linkage is hooked up wrong because nuetral is like 1st gear. Let me know what you guys think Thanks

maybe just the cable is damaged? IM sure you could get a new cable from a car thats being parted out for dirt cheap. spend a couple hours swapping out the cable, check the shifter itself too. I would just go right to the shift shaft comeing out the side of the trans, manually put it into reverse, then lower the car and see if reverse will work. that would eliminate everything except the shifter and cable.
but I agree, as it is, depending on how the body is, prolly around $2500. more if the body is in exceptional condition and orig. paint.

Best answer to anyone asking "what's it worth" is,
Whatever someone is willing to pay for it. That goes for anything not just cars.
A $2500 car with $600 worth of stereo equipment is still usually worth $2500. Same goes for any repairs you make. Investing $1000 worth of repairs into a vehicle doesn't increase it's value an extra $1000.
You make a good asking price. If someone is willing to pay it then you do good. If not then you have room to lower the price to make it more enticing. If someone thinks it's worth it, they'll pay any price.
