Wire Coming Off Thick Starter Wire? (Splice)

The 8 gauage (I think its 8) wire going from the battery to the starter had a T in it about half way down the wire, I have no idea where this goes, it was cut there, there is open hot wires, I dont like that, this wire must go somewhere.

I have looked at a wiring diagram and cant finds what is is.

Any help apreciated.

thanks

In factory form, the wire from the battery is one piece with no splice. Someone hacked it up. I would not want that, either.

Sounds like a previous owner wired something in, maybe an alarm or sound system? Trace the wire and see where it goes.

actually, now that i take closer look. i dont think its the same wire, its just in the same case thing for the wire.

the end of the wire in the pictures goes to the starter and the other end is hooked to B+

Are you sure it is not the negative battery cable that bolts to the block? It's in the same tubing that carries the positive cable that goes to the starter. Your pics are not too clear.
