windshield washer nozzle 1999 camaro

Got my car wet 2nd time in 2 years LOL, went to use the windshield washer and wipers only to find the left side shooting over the roof and the right not working . I found the right side was blocked and fixed it with a fine piece of wire. But the left side needed to be taken out for closer inspection, SNAP went one side of the clip, (Windshield Washer Nozzle (Left or Right) for 1998+ GM Part No 14098191) which I did not know was there. Now it would seem to me these would have to be the cheapest looking thing GM could have made but unlucky for me being in Australia it will take me a few weeks or more to get one from the STATES. Has anyone ever tried to replace these with something else ?.
I am thinking of trying to make new ones out of Aluminium if I can I will put some photos in next post.

repaired

Well I repaired the old one by making a new wing for the side of the nozzle body. I made this out of an old electrical connector, I had to cut the side off it which had a piece of plastic in the shape of the original plastic spring clip then Araldite (glue) it to the old nozzle body.
As I said these are CRAP and a much better type should have been used in this car. I will try and make a new one later on but this will do for now.
